This organisation, founded a decade ago by a small group of dedicated Oldham-based firefighters and their friends, highlights the perfect fusion of passion and altruism. Blazing Saddles was born by combining their love for cycling with a deep desire to support various charities that hold great significance in their hearts. Since its establishment in 2013, the team have raised over £100,000 for various charities.
The upcoming expedition and the team’s dedication really is extraordinary. Covering an astounding 1,450 miles, the Blazing Saddles team plans to embark on an awe-inspiring journey beginning at the Coliseum theatre in Oldham, England, and culminating at the historic Colosseum in Rome. Over the course of 12 days, these remarkable individuals will pedal their way through challenging terrains, encompassing an astounding 59,000 feet of climbs.
The funds raised during this laborious expedition will go towards supporting various charitable causes close to their hearts such as Firefighters’ Charity, Parkinson’s UK, SANDS, Arts Emergency and Back Up.
